CCRO Tagum holds Conference for Barangay Secretaries

Relative to the recently concluded Barangay Elections last October 30, 2023, the Office of the City Civil Registrar initiated a Conference for Barangay Secretaries (old and new) in Tagum City at the AVR 4, City Hall, to capacitate them as Partners in the effective and efficient implementation of civil registration laws.

To maximize the impact of the program, the CCRO collaborated with the Department of Interior and Local Government and invited Ms. Jeannette Junatilla Palmera, City Local Government Operations Officer VII, to thoroughly discuss with the newly appointed Barangay Secretaries their duties and responsibilities as mandated in the Section 394 of the Local Government Code of the Philippines, which include their duty to assist the Local Civil Registrar in the Registration of Birth, Marriage, and Death in their respective barangays.

This conference also served as an avenue to properly discuss issues and concerns related to civil registry laws and procedures, and to improve the quality, accuracy, and credibility of civil registry documents registered in Tagum City.
