498 Couples tie the knot in the grandest and the biggest Civil Wedding in Tagum City

The Office of the City Civil Registrar is honoured and grateful to be a part of the first-ever biggest and grandest “KASALAN SA TAGUM” with a theme, “Celebrating Oneness: Love is together, forever.”

A total of 498 couples celebrated oneness in marriage through a mass civil wedding solemnized by Mayor Rey T. Uy, yesterday, June 7, at the City Hall. After the ceremony, the newlyweds with any two (2) of their witnesses, parents or guests enjoyed a beautiful wedding reception at the City Hall Square.  Some of the couples were lucky to receive a gift from the city officials and department heads and gift certificates, Honeymoon and “Pangkabuhayan” packages from the Tagum Restaurants Association (TARA).

For the first time, each couple was provided with a budget to cover the cost of CENOMAR, Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counselling, Application for Marriage License, Marriage Certificate Registration, gown and barong/tuxedo, hair and make-up, wedding ring and bouquet.

This event was made possible through the initiative and partnership of the City Government of Tagum,  the Office of Vice Governor De Carlo “Oyo” L. Uy of Davao del Norte, the Tingog Partlylist of Speaker of the House Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, and the Tagum City Council of Women Foundation, Inc. headed by Ms. Alma L. Uy, the Event Organizer.

As an effect of this union, a total of 841 illegitimate children will be legitimated by virtue of the valid marriage of their parents.
