Tagum City delegates participated in the 1st Davao Region Muslim Solemnizing Officers Convention

The City Government of Tagum sent its delegates to the 1st Davao Region Muslim Solemnizing Officers Convention held last July 5 at the Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City. This convention was organized by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Region Xl, headed by its Director, Arch. Sherilla Porza Sawah. 

Only the Tagum City’s Muslim Imams who have Certificate of Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage (CRASM) were invited to this convention.  Ms. Jean Lopez and Staff of the Tagum City’s Muslim Affairs Office and Ms. Editha G. McCartney, Acting City Civil Registrar, were also invited and actively participated during the event. 

The topics discussed were: 

1. The Salient Points of RA 11596 “An act prohibiting the practice of child marriage and imposing the penalties and violation thereof”
